So y such se usan principalmente para enfatizar. Veamos algunos ejemplos:
This is such a nice place. (Este es un sitio tan agradable)
They are so intelligent! (Ellos son tan inteligentes!)
La estructura de las oraciones anteriores es:
such + (a/an) + adjetivo + nombre
such a nice place
so + adjetivo
so intelligent
Podemos usar "that" para indicar una razón o ampliar información:
It was such an interesting book that I couldn't put it down.
(Era un libro tan interesante que no podía parar de leerlo)
Paris is so beautiful that I'm going to go back next month.
(Paris es tan bonito que voy a volver el mes que viene)
Podemos usar so/such en frases negativas, pero en lugar de enfatizar lograremos el efecto contrario:
It's not so hot. (No hace tanto calor) >< It's so hot! (Hace tanto calor)
He's not such an interesting man. (No es un hombre tan interesante)
